Let’s talk green

We’ve glamorized hustle, concrete, and perfectly beige everything long enough.
Our lives happen inside rooms, behind screens, under artificial lights, and often in spaces that feel more “functional” than “alive.” But what if we changed that? What if every space we occupy could boost our mood, sharpen our focus, and give us a breath of fresh air — literally?
Rooms with plants reduce stress, improve mood, and increase creativity. Studies from World Health Organization have shown that plants improve air quality, boost focus by up to 15%, and reduce stress hormones by nearly a third. Offices enriched with greenery report better focus and higher satisfaction. Pretty wild for something that just sits there photosynthesizing, right?
The science is simple: when we surround ourselves with nature, our bodies and brains respond. Green environments lower blood pressure, regulate mood, and help restore focus in ways sterile, “perfect” interiors simply can’t. Even a single plant can trigger what scientists call the biophilia effect — our innate human tendency to connect with nature.
BUT. It’s not just about putting a cactus in the corner and calling it a day. Real green design means choosing the right plant, the right pot and the right placement. Which is also sustainable thinking.
I see sustainability as more as an attitude and a form of respect. And it starts small: choosing better, not more. Going for pieces that last, materials that age beautifully, and designs that grow with you instead of falling out of trend. Just like a well-loved monstera that’s been with you through five moves and one identity crisis.
And no, you don’t need to become a plant guru or meditate with your monstera. Just let a little green into your daily chaos and watch what happens.
